No one likes liars, because when we hear lies we get very upset, betrayed and hurt. But the reality is that we deceive ourselves every day and deprive ourselves of the life we deserve and prevent our success. Here are some of the most common lies you may tell yourself every day. By reading them you can understand how much these lies can damage your life.
1. I am a victim of my past
You are not a victim of your past, but because of your past, you are a victim of your present. Of course, the activities you have done before will affect you, but the obsession with the past and the endless analysis of what is past can lead to more mistakes. If you let go of your past, it will overwhelm you. Remember that drowning in the past takes you away from the present.
2. To succeed too old
You are never too old for anything. Nelson Mandela became president at the age of 76, Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa at the age of 51, and Colonel Sanders founded the first fried chicken chain store (KFC) at the age of 61.
There are always people who achieve great success when everything seems to be against them. As long as you doubt yourself and think that you have lost time, your self-confidence will be lost and you will not be able to understand your capacities. Remember that you are never too old or too young to do something.
3. Money is angry with me
Do not condemn yourself to failure from the beginning. Money should not be your first priority. However, it is not right to be completely careless. You have the elevator to achieve whatever you desire. Start small and let your dreams get bigger and better.
4. I will be happy when I have something
Happiness is not achieved when you reach your goal. The feeling of pleasure and satisfaction is temporary and fleeting. Try to be happy without setting unnecessary goals.
5. I will do this later
This is probably the most common lie we all tell ourselves. The problem is that we never know how much time we actually have. You may wake up one day and find that you no longer have time to do the things you wanted to do. No one knows the future. If you wait for the perfect moment when everything is safe and secure, that moment will never come.
6. I am a loser because my efforts fail
Let go of your expectations of what your life should be like and focus on what you have right now. You have to remember that just because something goes wrong does not mean that you have not achieved anything. Never give up. Success involves a series of small daily steps, and your activities and decisions gradually lead you to your goals.
7. Nobody understands me
Most people in the world think so, and you are not alone. Just because others disagree with you does not mean that they do not understand you. It is good to be different, and sometimes listening to someone with different opinions helps you to understand yourself better.
8. I’m not like them, I can not do that
We are all different. Each of us has specific skills, abilities, and personality traits. We usually compare ourselves to people who seem to be successful in their careers, but we completely forget the fact that they may one day start from scratch and reach their current position with effort and hard work. Try to think more positively. Let this sentence become the queen of your mind: “If they can, so can I.”
9. My complexities hinder my abilities and efforts
In fact, what you hate most about yourself and try to hide from others is what makes you unique and helps you stand out. Look at yourself through the eyes of someone you love to see who you really are.
